East Central Railway (ECR) has made elaborate arrangements at Patna Junction this Shravan for the convenience of pilgrims. The holy month began from Tuesday and ECR has introduced special trains and added extra coaches to make life easier for devotees headed to Baidyanath Dham in Jharkhand. ECR has also ensured food of their choice.
An extra coach each in three trains has been added to avoid rush. One extra sleeper coach has been added to the Danapur-Howrah Express (12352/12351) and an extra chair car has been attached in both Patna-Howrah Janshatabdi Express (12024/12023) and Patna-Ranchi Janshatabdi Express (12365/12366).
A “May I help you” counter has been opened at Patna Junction platform number 1 and five extra ticket reservation windows have been created.
“The railway has taken extra effort otherwise we would have faced problems in purchasing tickets in this rush,” said Manoj Gupta, a devotee at Patna Junction.
The railway has also addressed a problem faced by devotees — availability of food without garlic and onion. The pilgrims would be able to get food of their choice at Jan Ahaar. “Food without garlic and onion like mixed vegetable, vegetable biryani and pakoda are available at nominal prices,” said V.K. Choudhary, Patna junction stationmaster. He added: “Arrival and departure timings are being announced every 10 minutes.”
